Masters Picks!

The greatest week of the year is finally here! I have to get my picks out there somewhere besides the 3-Bullet Thursday if you're not a subscriber, so here we go!

Winner: Collin Morikawa

I had the pleasure of watching Collin live and up close earlier this year at Bay Hill. Sometimes you just know when watching a master of their craft that a W is imminent. Save Russell Henley's tough luck chip in for eagle, that week belonged to Collin. In my mind, it's not if but when for him. Someone leading SG Tee to Green and SG Approach is a good fit for the demands of Augusta National. Banking on him being there Sunday.

Contender: Bryson DeChambeau

The scientist has added a US Open to his tally along with a plethora of new fans courtesy of YouTube since last year's Masters. With that, you have to imagine the experience and maturity as a player is going to yield a jacket at some point. Maybe this week his name is in the hat, say within 2 of the lead standing on the 16th tee Sunday, a hole he has aced before...

Pretender: Jordan Spieth

It's been a scattered start to the year with finishes like 4th in Phoenix undone by a MC the following week at Genesis have to leave you wondering, "Which Jordan will show up this week?" He's 82nd in SG Approach which is very middle of the pack, but 127th in GIR%. That further emphasizes the hit or miss theme for Jordan this year. Augusta is too punishing for that type of erratic performance.

Darkhorse: Patrick Cantlay

Cantlay hasn't finished outside the Top 33 on Tour this year including 4 Top 15s and 2 Top 5s. He's 15th in Total Strokes Gained and 18th in SG Approach. At a course where hitting small targets is paramount, have to like good ball striking supported by 54th in SG Putting. He's finished T22 and T14 in the last two Masters, so just keep an eye out...

Bold Prediction:

Please don't hate me for this one, but I'm at it again with the "LIV Tour has good players" theme. I'm picking 5 LIV players in the Top 10 come Sunday afternoon, maybe even one appearing in Butler Cabin. (Bryson, Cam Smith, Rahm, Niemann, Hatton)
